Big Fish is a movie that focuses on the importance of story telling. The premise of the movie is that the truth about what happened is not necessarily the facts of what happened. This difference of philosophy causes a rift between a father and son. The son feels as if his father has been lying to him all his life with these tall tails. The father does not see them as lies. The story's are the fathers way of sharing his life with his son in a deeper way than the pure facts could show.
